2 <br /> amendment provides for the receipt of the additional funds from the State. (See Attachment <br /> 1, column #2). <br /> Heritage Hills House Relocations <br /> 3. During Hurricane Floyd in September 1999, two homes located in Heritage Hills subdivision <br /> sustained flood damage. With the assistance of federal Hazard Mitigation Grant funds, the <br /> County purchased the properties from the homeowners. In accordance with the grant <br /> agreement, the County is obligated to remove the houses and restore the two properties to a <br /> natural state. <br /> On September 17, 2002, the Board of Commissioners approved a plan to relocate one of <br /> the houses to Little River Park to be used as a caretaker residence and the other one to the <br /> Pine Knolls community to be reused as affordable housing. Estimated costs to relocate the <br /> two houses is $180,000 with funding coming from the Hazardous Mitigation Grant, <br /> Recreation and Parks Subdivision Payment in Lieu Funds, 2001 Affordable Housing bonds, <br /> and a contribution from Durham County (for the relocation of the house to the Little River <br /> Park).
