/ <br /> ORANGE PERSON CHATHAM AREA PROGRAM <br /> INFORMATION REPORT ON MENTAL HEALTH REFORM <br /> PROGRESS <br /> Attached are three documents to illustrate progress made by the OPC <br /> Mental Health Reform Steering Committee in response to the statewide <br /> mandate for system reform. The Steering Committee is comprised of <br /> elected official representatives from the three counties, county <br /> management, consumer advocates, and OPC staff. <br /> 1. Breakout Group Feedback from the Public Forum Held by the <br /> Orange County BOCC on October 8 <br /> 2. Draft Strategic Planning Document being developed by the OPC <br /> Mental Health Reform Steering Committee on the tri-county <br /> response to a phased implementation of system reform. (A final <br /> document will be presented for BOCC approval by the first week <br /> in December; all plans are due to the state by January 1.) <br /> 3. Copy of the resolution adopted by the BOCC on October 1St <br /> establishing its intent to maintain the tri-county partnership and <br /> create a strong governance structure for the new local <br /> management entity responsible for mental health oversight. <br /> Person and Chatham county boards adopted a similar resolution. <br />
