April 17, 1967 Minutes Continued <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION AND SUPPLEMENTAL <br />REGISTRATION= THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />A, special bond election will be held throughout Orange County between 6:30 A.M. <br />and 6:30 P.M., Eastern Daylight Saving Time, on Tuesday, May 23, 1967, at which <br />there will be submitted to the qualified voters of said County the following questio : <br />Shall an order finally passed on April 17, 1967, authorizing the County of <br />Orange, North Carolina, to contract a debt, in addition to any and all other <br />debt which said County may now or hereafter have power or authority to contract, <br />and in evidence thereof to issue School Building Bonds in an aggregate principal <br />amount not exceeding $3,000,000 for the purpose of providing funds, with any <br />other available funds, for erecting additional school buildings and other school <br />plant facilities, remodeling, enlarging and reconstructing existing schoo; <br />buildings and other school plant facilities and acquiring necessary land and <br />equipment therefor to provide additional school facilities in the County of <br />Orange to maintain the six months' school term in said County as required by <br />Section 3 of Article IX of the Constitution, and authorizing the levy and <br />collection of a sufficient tax for the payment of the principal of and the <br />interest on said bonds, be approved? <br />The question hereinabove set forth contains a statement of the purpose for <br />which the bonds are authorized by the order referred to in said question. <br />If said bonds are issued a tax will be levied upon all taxable property in the <br />County of Orange for the payment of the principal of and the interest on said bonds. <br />For said election the regular registration books for elections in said County <br />will be used, and such books will be open for the registration of voters, not <br />theretofore registered, from 9 A.M. until sunset on each day beginning Saturday, <br />April 29, 1967 and closing Saturday, May 13, 1967. On each Saturday during such <br />registration period said books will be open at the polling places. Saturday, May 20, <br />1967, is Challenge Day. <br />The polling places in the several precincts and the registrars and judges for <br />each precinct are as follows: <br />PRECINCT POLLING PLACE REGISTRAR JUDGES <br />North Carrboro Carrboro Elementary Mrs. H.
