2 <br /> purchases. <br /> Staff proposes to "piggy back on the City of Fayetteville bid number 200207 that was awarded <br /> to Toter Incorporated of Statesville, North Carolina on March 4, 2002 for 95 gallon containers, <br /> model number 40505. Unit cost far the containers is $36.87 each. By taking advantage of the <br /> volume discount extended to the City of Fayei the cast of the cart is well below the cast <br /> that had been anticipated in the program budget of$50 each. The carts will be purchased from <br /> a North Carolina vendor. Pursuant to the statute, Orange County advertised its intentions ten <br /> (10)days before this meetirg. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Total mat of this action, R approved by the Board, would be$77,427. <br /> Sufficient funds are allocated in the Solid Waste Management Department FY 2002103 <br /> operating budget. The estimated annual savings of$100,000 from bringing this program N- <br /> house are net savings after the purchase of these roll cads,the previously approved recycling <br /> truck purchases, and other program costs have been factored into the calculefions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Sf: The Manager recommends that the Board award the contract to <br /> Toter Incorporated of Statesville. North Carolina in the amount of$77,427,00; and authorize the <br /> Purchasing Director to execute the appropriate paperwork. <br />
