f <br /> 5 <br /> Job Description for Certified Nurse's Aide Position for Central Orange Adult Day Health <br /> Center <br /> Agency <br /> The Central Orange Adult Day Hcalth Center is a community-based organization dedicated to providing <br /> quality mental,physical and social services to the adult and senior population of Orange County.Its goal <br /> is to maintain and improve the quality of life and independence for its participants,provide respite to <br /> their caregivers,and prevent or delay the onset of institutionalization. <br /> Job Description <br /> To assist participants with activities of daily living as well as program activities and services. <br /> Assistance should be in a manner that encourages participation and fosters independence and <br /> freedom of choice for the participant. <br /> Duties <br /> • Provide assistance with activities of daily living,which can include: dressing and undressing, <br /> personal hygiene; monitoring of safe transfer ambulating techniques; care of personal <br /> appliances such as eyeglasses, contact lenses, dentures and hearing aids <br /> • Observe and provide feedback to nurse and program manager of participant's changing needs <br /> and assist in carrying out program changes in accordance with those needs <br /> • Work as a team player with other program personnel and community volunteers <br /> • Assist nurse or health care coordinator with administration of medications <br /> • Maintain quality and accurate records of participants and ensure confidentiality <br /> • Encourage, supervise and engage participants in the social and therapeutic activities of the <br /> program <br /> • Supervise the provision of transportation,meals and maintenance of the center <br /> • Other duties as appropriate <br /> Qualifications <br /> • Possession of certification of nursing assistant and/or medical technician <br /> • Commitment to health and social services <br /> • Excellent communication and organizational skills <br /> • Knowledge of the physical,mental, emotional and social needs of disabled adults and seniors <br /> • Experience working with the older populations preferred <br /> • Be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs. <br /> • Possess a negative TB test,and current CPR and first aid training <br />
