y <br /> 2 <br /> The County will continue to contract with only qualified service providers pursuant to both State- <br /> mandated requirements and criteria established by the County. The contracts will also provide <br /> backup liability coverage for the certified nursing aides. A sample agreement is attached for <br /> review and reference. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funding for the purchase of this service is included in the current <br /> approved Department on Aging budget. The service cost will not exceed $16.00 per aide hour. <br /> Expenditures under the service provider agreements are projected to be $48,515.00. <br /> Total Program costs are projected at$145,918: County - $40,000; UNC Health Care- $20,000; <br /> Carol Woods - $18,400; and Home and Community Block Grant Program - $9,054; Estimated . <br /> participant fees - $58,464. The Adult Day Health Care Program is to be transferred for <br /> operation to a new non-profit agency being formed and scheduled to occur by July 2003. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The County Manager recommends that the Board authorize the <br /> Manager to sign agreements for certified nurse aide providers. <br />
