Ms. Sanford recounted some of the benefits of having a veterinarian on the A.P.S. staff;'
and how this benefits shelter programs at no expense to the county.
Ms. Sanford introduced A.P.S. board members, Ann Hamner (President), Billie
Nagelschmidt(Secretary), Lauren Powers (DVM), Dan Texores (Treasurer), Jim Kramer
(Shelter Committee Chair and Dean Edwards,(Associate Director).
Dr. Summers suggested that at the next meeting we have three things: (1) a list of
decision items on shelter procedures, (2) a list of contract provisions that need to be
decided upon and forwarded and (3)the proposed budget in reverse order so we are sure
to complete the funding part.
Mr. Jacobs requested some consideration of computer automation as well as policy on
public access to A.P.S. records and the idea of county-appointed members to the A.P.S.
board. He also mentioned the idea of the shelter staff collecting the pet tax registration
fee at the time of adoption.
7
