He <br /> believes that the APS should adopt out the largest number of animals out that you can. . <br /> The subject of"high-risk"P'guard dogs" came up in terms of what was defined as a high- <br /> risk dog. Ms. Sanford said that breeds like chows, rottweilers and pit .bulls need more <br /> training and socialization and can often cause a liability. <br /> Other sections in the manual needing attention: <br /> -Questions arose regarding disposal of animal bodies after euthanasia. Ms. <br /> Sanford said that bodies are taken from the freezer to the landfill once or twice <br /> weekly. At the landfill, they are taken to a specific area and covered up <br /> immediately. <br /> -page 40-11.7 - "young puppies" should be defined. Ms. Sanford said it varies <br /> from case to case. <br /> The review will continue at the next meeting. Committee members were encouraged to <br /> flag areas that they had questions about or would like to see changed. <br /> s <br />
