ATTACHMENT A. SHELTER UPGRADE FOR 2002-03 First, let us thank you for the air conditioning from last;year's request. The air conditioning in the Isolation Area and Green Wing/Yellow Wing areas has made a positive impact on the health of the animals and also helps the kennel technicians get through the dog days of summer. This year we have a series of small items, but each is critical to our operations. 1. The Shelter seriously needs three wall cabinet units in'the medical room to hold the various medicines and paraphernalia used in physical exams and for treating injured and sick animals. With the level of adoptions and the numbers of animals that need blood drawn passing through this room, efficiency is compromised when the technicians cannot have their supplies well organized. With the cabinets, we.can organize supplies that are used on an hour-to-hour basis so the health care technicians can handle the animals more effectively. Each unit is$500, total$1,500. TOTAL- $1,500 2. ' Flooring for the front office area, bathrooms and medical room.. The floor is very old and cracking, and for both appearance and for maintaining bacteria-free areas, this replacement will make a big difference and it will last through the five years we have left here.
