STRATEGIES <br /> , <br /> • Dr. Rosemary Summers has appointed six rabies <br /> vaccinators under NCGS 130A-186. These <br /> Shelter staff vaccinate all adoptable animals <br /> within 24 hours or at the earliest possible time. <br /> • A check will be made at the adoption final health <br /> examination to assure the animal is vaccinated <br /> before it leaves the shelter. <br /> To hold 10 rabies clinic during 2002: <br /> January 19 2-4pm <br /> February 16 2.4pm <br /> March 16 2-4pm <br /> April 20 2-4pm <br /> May 18 9-11 am <br /> _ June 15 9-1 lam <br /> July 20 9-12am Weaver St Market - Cwrboro <br /> August 17 9-11 am <br /> September 21 9-11 am <br /> November 16 2-4pm <br /> OUTCOME FOR 2001: <br /> • 631 dogs and cats were vaccinated at the ten <br /> Shelter- scheduled rabies clinics. <br /> • Over 2,000 were vaccinated at the Shelter--all <br /> adopted and reclaimed dogs and cats four months <br /> of age and older were vaccinated before leaving <br /> the Shelter, those under four months of age <br /> received a rabies voucher for later vaccination. <br /> • All low-cost s/n animals received a rabies <br /> vaccination before their sterilization surgery. <br /> • Rabies clinics and shelter-vaccinated dogs and <br /> cats brought in $6,877 in 2000-01. <br /> NEED 111.
