Pedersen <br /> Superintendent <br /> RE: BOCC Agenda for September 23, 2002 <br /> DATE: September 12, 2002 <br /> The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Board of Education met on September 5s'and <br /> asked that the following items be included on the agenda for the joint meeting scheduled <br /> for September 23rd. The first two items are brief, informational items. The Board would <br /> like for adequate time to be dedicated to a discussion about the third high school. <br /> • Membership as compared to projections for 2002-03 school year(20t'day figures will <br /> be provided at the meeting) <br /> • Update on anticipated reductions in the state budget(see enclosed) <br /> • Update on major CIP projects with identification of next steps for BOCC (see <br /> enclosed) <br /> • Third high school for at least 750 students <br /> • Conversion of Lincoln Center to an educational facility for students <br /> • New facility for relocated central offices <br /> • Elementary No. 10 <br /> The Board is particularly interested in the County Commissioners clarifying their. <br /> commitment to the construction of a third high school by 2005 in the southern end of our . <br /> school district. <br /> The Board also would like to receive an update at the meeting of the status of the <br /> many committees appointed by the BOCC to study school-related issues. <br />
