The Department on Aging has received donated funds from UNC Hospitals ($20,000) and <br /> from Carol Woods Retirement Community ($18,400). The funds are intended to support the <br /> Adult Day Health Center initiative at the-Central/Northern Orange Senior Center located at <br /> the Meadowlands in Hillsborough. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br /> $38,400 in donated funds for this purpose. (See Attachment 1, column #1). <br /> 2. The Department on Aging has also received funds totaling $2,500 from Carol Woods <br /> Retirement Community to help support the In Praise of Age Program. These funds will be <br /> used to cover 50 percent of the temporary staff cost to support the activities of this program. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these funds. (See Attachment 1, column <br /> #2). <br /> Non-Departmental <br /> 3. In various versions of the State's proposed budget, funding related to criminal justice <br /> partnerships throughout the State would be either significantly reduced or possibly <br /> eliminated. In preparing the County's budget last spring, staff anticipated the potential <br /> funding cuts and included a $15,000 "reserve" for the Orange Chatham Justice Partnership <br /> (OCJP). The purpose of these funds was to allow Orange County, in partnership with <br /> Chatham County, to maintain pre-trial services at least through the first six months of the <br />
