.5,41 <br />MPTIM <br />ordinance shall be held to be invalid or unconstitutional <br />by any court of competent jurisdiction, such holding <br />shall not affect any other section, provision,'clause <br />or portion of this ordinance which is not of itself held <br />to be invalid or unconstitutional. <br />Section 16. Definitions <br />This section lists important words used in this ordinance and de- <br />fines them for purposes of this ordinance. <br />Words used in the present tense shall be understood to include the <br />future tense. wards used in the singular shall be understood to <br />include the plural. <br />Building. A structure having a roof supported by columns or walls <br />oar the shelter, support or enclosure of persons, animals, or <br />chattels. Each portion of a building separated by division walls <br />from ground up without openings shall be considered a separate <br />building. <br />Class 'A" Service Stations: Automobile service stations which pro - <br />viae a full range of customer conveniences and services, including <br />two or more bays and personnel for washing, lubricating, repairing, <br />with such services conducted only in3ide the station, and which <br />provide parking on the premises for customers' and employees' <br />vehicles only. <br />Customar�Home Occupation: An occupation for gain or support con- <br />ducted by members of a family with no more than one non - family <br />employee within a residential building provided that no article - <br />or service is sold, offered for sale or performed except by the <br />family or its employee and provided that all articles are produced <br />in the residential building, and provided that no display of said <br />articles shall be visible from a main traveled roadway. <br />Dwellin Unit: One or more rooms in a single building designed to <br />ne <br />house o .amily or household. <br />Lot: A parcel of land which fronts on a public right -of -way and <br />ingress and egress by means thereof and which is occupied or <br />intended to be occupied by a building or buildings, together with <br />the customary accessories and required open space belonging to them. <br />Lot Depth: The shortest perpendicular distance from the front to <br />the rear lot line shall be the lot depth. <br />Lot of Record: A lot, the boundaries of which are filed as a <br />legal record in the office of the Register of Deeds of Orange <br />County. <br />Main Traveled Roadwa : A traveled portion of a road, street, or <br />highway right-of-way owned, constructed, or maintained in whole <br />or in part by federal, state, county, or municipal governments <br />ti <br />
