io
Town of Chapel Hill
Proposed. Process for Southern Park
Points of Note - 9/5/02
➢ The County would be involved in approval of the conceptual plan, but
under this proposal would have only review and comment opportunities
for subsequent steps, such as the Town's Special Use Permit. The County
would have limited approval of the budget and bid award process, and
would not be involved in the construction process.
➢ The Town proposes to keep the Board informed of activity via a"Project
Planning Committee" which would include "at least one Commissioner."
This Committee would make a recommendation to the Town Manager and
Town Council on the project designer;, construction bids, and updates on
the construction process itself.
If the Project Planning Committee does not reach consensus, "the Town of
Chapel Hill may make the decision to avoid delay in project."
➢ The Town proposes an interlocal agreement to be signed prior to the
Special Use Permit and construction that would commit the County to
make bond funds available on a given schedule.
