1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: September 3, 2002 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 99- <br /> SUBJECT: Little River Park Advisory Committee–Two Reappointments and One <br /> Appointment <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (YIN) No <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): Under Separate Cover INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Membership Roster Clerk's Office, ext. 2130, 2125, 2126, 2129 <br /> Letter of Recommendation <br /> Applications/Resumes of Those TELEPHONE NUMBERS: <br /> Recommended Hillsborough 245-2130 <br /> Interest List Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> Mebane 336-227-2031 <br /> PURPOSE: To reappoint two members of the Little River Park Advisory Committee (LRPAC) <br /> and to appoint one new member. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Little River Park Advisory Committee was established in October 2001 <br /> by the four partner entities that worked together to acquire the 391-acre tract for the Little River <br /> Regional Park and Natual Area: Orange County, Durham County, Triangle Land Conservancy <br /> and Eno River Association, <br /> The Committee is comprised of representatives from those four entities and a few citizens from <br /> the area surrounding the future park. The Committee is expected to operate until the Park <br /> opens in July 2003. The terms of Kim Watkins, Adjacent/Neary Property Owner; Sandra <br /> Johnson Quinn, O/C Recreation and Parks Department; and Johnny Randall, O/C Commission <br /> for the Environment (CFE), expire September 30, 2002. <br /> A letter of recommendation has been received to reappoint Ms. Quinn and Ms. Watkins and to <br /> replace Mr. Randall by another member of the CFE. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider reappointing Sandra Johnson Quinn and Kim Watkins to <br /> second terms on the Little River Park Advisory Committee, with term expiration dates of <br /> September 30, 2003. Consider appointing Annette Jurgelski, a member of the Orange County <br /> Commission for the Environment, to replace Mr. Johnny Randall, for a term to expire on <br /> September 30, 2003. <br />
