ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: October 18, 2005 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 9-~-a <br />SUBJECT: Transfer of Development Rights Taskforce- One New Appointment <br />DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Under Separate Cover <br />Membership Roster <br />Letter from Town of Hillsborough <br />Interest List <br />Application(s)/Resume(s) of Person(s) on the <br />Interest List <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Clerk's Office, 245-2130 <br />PURPOSE: To consider making new appointments Transfer of Development Rights <br />Taskforce. <br />BACKGROUND: Initial appointments were made for this taskforce on June 23, 2005. <br />Taskforce members may be chosen from the following general sectors, including, but not limited <br />to: local governments, advisory boards, banking and finance, private sector <br />community/neighborhood groups, utilities, developers, lawyers, agriculture, planning, natural <br />areas advocacy, real estate, and environmental protection. <br />At the October 3, 2005 BOCC meeting, the Board discussed the appointment of Michael <br />Gering. At that time, there was a question of whether the Hillsborough Town Board appointed <br />Mr. Gering or if he was volunteering for this taskforce, as a citizen. He was appointed by the <br />Hillsborough Town Board, as evidenced by the enclosed letter from the Town of Hillsborough. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Consider making one new appointment to the Transfer of Development <br />Rights Taskforce, as the Board may desire, <br />
