The Advisory Board on Aging reviewed and recommended for approval the proposed M,A,P. <br />Task Force charge, structure, leadership and time frame at its September 14, 2005 meeting. It <br />will be responsible for the annual monitoring and assessment of M,A,P. objectives and <br />outcomes after the M,A,P, Update has been finalized and formally adopted by the BOCC as a <br />strategic planning document, <br />Over 60 membership applications were received and reviewed by the County Clerk's Office, the <br />Advisory Board on Aging leadership, and the Department on Aging staff, All applicants are <br />recommended for approval by the BOCC, The Department will continue to solicit additional <br />representation from within the rural, ethnic, and male members of the community in order to <br />ensure increased diversity and input into planning process. The majority of the applicants are <br />recommended for their first choice committee assignment; others received their second choice <br />to achieve balanced representation an all committees, Attached are the member <br />recommendations far each of the M,A,P, committees and each committee composition by <br />geography, gender and ethnic background, <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Department on Aging has budgeted funds far preparing the Update <br />of the Master Aging Plan and will not require any additional allocation for this purpose, The <br />Department on Aging Director and a UNC graduate student assigned to the Department will <br />serve as primary staff far this effort, <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the <br />recommended M,A,P, Task Force charge, stricture, membership and timeframe -including <br />the designation of two Board members to serve on the Steering Committee, <br />
