Factual <br />information regarding these aspects of a potential merger are compiled in the basic report and <br />its appendices, transmitted under separate cover. <br />As the report is being presented in a work session setting, it is anticipated that this agenda item <br />will be addressed through staff presentation, Commissioner questions with answers from staff, <br />and Commissioner comments and requests for follow up information. There is no provision for <br />public input at this particular meeting. However, public hearings on the topic of potential school <br />merger have been established by the BOCC for October 16 and 23, 2003. Further, copies of <br />the basic report, its appendices, and related school merger background materials can be <br />reviewed online at the Orange County website. (www.co.orange.nc.us). <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: As noted in the staff report. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive and discuss the <br />report and provide appropriate direction to staff. <br />
