49) <br />/ Ayes: Commissioners Bennett, Cleveland, Smith and Walker. (Commissioner Ray <br />abstained from voting.) <br />Noes: None <br />Dorothy Kiester, Chairman of the Joint Orange - Chatham Community Action, Inc. <br />Committee, made a progress report of said organization to the Board. She stated <br />that under new Federal regulations the budget for her committee was being set on a <br />eighteen (18) month fiscal year and that Orange County would have to consider a <br />budget for said organization which would run from December 1, 1966 through February <br />11 1968. The Board thanked Miss Kiester for her appearance and commended her for t <br />progress in organization and programs being instituted. <br />Ed Barnes, County Farm Agent, accomnanied by representatives of the State Farm <br />Extension Agency presented to the Board Mrs. Fonrose Gore, who was their choice as <br />Assistant Home Demonstration Agent. Upon motion of Commissioner Ray, seconded <br />by Commissioner Cleveland and unanimously adopted Mrs. F'onrose Gore was appointed <br />as Assistant Home Demonstration Agent for Orange County upon the recommendations <br />made to the Board by the Extension Service Director. <br />Clarence Jones informed the Board of the business man's tour which would be <br />conducted in Orange County on October 6th.
