ORANGE COUNTY MULTI - HAZARD PLAN <br />Vll. Responsibilities <br />A. CHAIR TO THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />1. Carry out provisions of State General Statutes and local ordinances <br />relating to emergencies. <br />2. Authorize activation of the Emergency Operations Center. <br />3. Declare a state of emergency at the local level, when needed. <br />4. Provide strategy for emergency operations. <br />Request assistance of State resources, as needed. <br />6. Coordinate efforts by elected officials from other local governments. <br />Coordinate efforts of appointed boards. <br />8. Suspend, revoke or waive any County rule, policy, procedure, or provision <br />of any ordinance that conflicts with emergency operations. <br />9. Authorize funds necessary for emergency operations not available in <br />departmental budget, <br />10. Ensure timely information, reports, damage assessments, and requests for <br />assistance flow through proper channels to the State. <br />11. Enter into mutual aid agreements with other local governments, and <br />private enterprises for sharing of resources during emergency operations. <br />12, Activate the primary Emergency Alert System stations, when needed. <br />13 Report to Emergency Operations Center upon request. <br />Revised 2/6/03 <br />
