In order to design the park infrastructure and <br />facilities, the County needs the property surveyed to provide the topographic mapping (one- <br />foot contours) and location data (structures, streams, specimen trees). <br />Orange County solicited proposals from 9 local surveyors and received 4 responses. <br />Selection criteria included, but were not limited to, the quality of the proposal, technical <br />capabilities, and previous experience in performing survey work for the County. The <br />selection committee chose Landmark Surveying, Inc. to perform the needed services for an <br />estimated cost of $39,675. County policy requires Board approval for expenditures with <br />licensed professionals, specifically architects, engineers and surveyors. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The projected cost of the survey is $39,675. With approximately 20 <br />percent of the survey work relating to the Northern Human Services Center wastewater <br />system, staff recommends that the total cost of the work be prorated between the park <br />project and the facility renovation project. It should be noted that all of the proposed survey <br />work is necessary regardless of any outcomes related to wastewater treatment on the <br />
