Presenters will be Deborah Reid Murphy (NC Museum of Art), Peg Gignoux <br />(Artist), Terry Colville (Orange County Department on Aging), Leah Rade (Chair, OCAC), and <br />Martha Shannon (Staff, OCAC). <br />BACKGROUND: The OCAC has been selected by the NC Museum of Art for their FY06 <br />pARTnership program. In .January/February 2006, Carrboro textile artist Peg Gignoux will work <br />with participants of the Orange County Department on Aging to create a fabric public art piece to <br />be permanently displayed in a senior center in Orange County. This intergenerational project is <br />an extension of Ms. Gignoux's residency with children and families at the NC Museum of Art <br />during their Crosscurrents Exhibition in the fall of 2005. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The anticipated cost of this project totals $10,053, At the September 13, <br />2005 Board work session, Commissioners approved funding for the County Facilities Arts <br />Reserve Project for fiscal year 2005 -06 in the amount of $5,000. The Arts Commission requests <br />that the entire reserve appropriation of $5,000 be transferred to a senior center capital project for <br />the proposed artwork. <br />The proposed budget for this project has been approved by the NC Museum of Art. To date, the <br />NC Museum of Art has approved $3,820 for its portion of this collaborative project, <br />
