A.I'E~rpose <br />'These ~~,%ater Conse~•~ation Standards are enacted by- tl~e Ch-~Enge ~~%ater and Se~~~er :~~tihority~ <br />(C)1~~ASA) for the purposes of: <br />Reducing the rate of increase in o~°erall water rise through year-round ~~~ater <br />conservation lractices that will help maximise the ec>mtnunity's existing and planned <br />tivater supply soturces and help reduce seasonal peal. day derryands that res~.~lt in the need <br />fcn• costly expansion of water treatment, storage, and tr~ulsm.ission facilities. ;such year- <br />e•c~und practices shall. include: <br />a. Reducing indoor ~~rater waste by encouraging the. installation and maintenance of <br />ultra-la«• flow toilets, faucet aerators, loch-flo~~~ slloweRrheads and similar devices, <br />a.s l~~ell as other creative and commonsense indoor cor~sei~~ation practices. <br />b. Reducing irrigation and irrigation-related water ~~aste without sacrificing <br />landscape quality through. the cultivatie~n of lo~vcr ~~-ater use plants; i~npro~-ed <br />landscape design and planting practices: ~x~ore efficient «~atering practices; and <br />unproved i:t-~•igation system. design and i~nainte2~a«ce. <br />Increasing tl~e use of reclaimed ~vastet~~ter and storm~~vater for irri:~sation and <br />other uses that do not require grater of pi~table quality. <br />2. Providing an orderly .process far reducing co~~-~r~~unity-~~-ide ~~~~ater demands clc~ring <br />periods of drought or other n~itt~rally occun•ing causes of waiver shortages; and <br />3. Providing atl orderly process for reducing community-«ride water demands during <br />periods of «Tater shortages due to natural disaster (other than drou~glrt), maj«r f~}~'AS:'~ <br />.facilities fai.hire, or other unexl3ected and sudden. loss of ~~~ater supply, t~•eatmcnt, or <br />distribution capacitor that constitutes a water supply emergency. <br />1.
