Gordon Battle <br />Courtroom in Hillsborough, N.C. <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Moses Carey, Barry Jacobs, Valerie <br />Foushee, Alice M, Gordon, and Stephen H, Halkiotis <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br />COUNTY ATTORNEY PRESENT: Geoff Gledhill <br />COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager John M. OPENING REMARKS FROM THE CHAIR <br />B. PUBLIC CHARGE <br />The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br />Chair Carey called the meeting to order and recognized Chair of the Orange County <br />Planning Board Jay Bryan.. <br />C. PUBLIC HEARING ITEM <br />Orange County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance Amendments <br />a. Amend the existing 1981 Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance according to Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region IV suggestions and the new State <br />of North Carolina model for non-coastal jurisdictions,. <br />b, Continue participation in the Community Rating System (CRS), which can moderate <br />property insurance costs. <br />c, Review Administrative Procedures for the issuance of development permits near <br />floodplains. <br />
