<br />8, Any alteration, repair, reconstruction, or improvements to a structure, which complies with
<br /> the provisions of this Ordinance, shall meet the requirements of "new construction" as
<br /> contained in this Ordinance.
<br />9. Non-conforming buildings or uses or other development may not be enlazged, replaced, or
<br /> rebuilt unless such enlargement or reconstruction is accomplished conforming to the
<br /> provisions of this Ordinance, Provided, however, nothing in this Ordinance shall prevent the
<br /> repair, reconstruction, or replacement of a building or stnrcture existing on the effective date
<br /> of this Ordinance and located totally or partially within the floodway Jerre, non-
<br /> encroachment area, or sh•eam setback, provided that the bulk of the building or strrcture
<br /> below the regulatory flood protection elevation in the floodway setae, non-ever°oachment
<br /> area, or sh•eam setback is not increased and i€ provided that such repair, reconstruction, or
<br /> replacement meets all of the other requirements of this Ordinance.
<br />10, New solid waste disposal,facilities, hazardous waste management facilities, salvage ,yards,
<br /> arad chemical storage, facilities shall not be permitted in SFHAs
<br />~5) 11 A structure or tank for chemical or .fuel storage incidental to an allowed use or to the
<br /> operation of a water h•eahazerat plant or wastewater treatment facility may be located in a
<br /> SFHA only if the structure or tank is either elevated or ,flood proofed to at least the
<br /> r°egulator;y flood protection elevation and certified actor°ding to Section 42-68(3) of this
<br /> Ordinance.
<br />Il. Storage of the following chemical compounds •shall be prohibited within SFHAs
<br />a) Acetone, n) Potassium,
<br />b) Ammonia, o) Sodium,
<br />c) Benzene, p) Sulfur-,
<br />d) Calcium carbide, q) Acetylene gas,
<br />e) Carbon disulfide, r) Gasoline and any petroleum
<br />f) Celluloid, product (excluding plastic
<br />~ Chlorine, materials),
<br />h) Hydrochloric acid, s) Treated lumber,
<br />i) Prussic acid, t) Charcoal or coal dust
<br />f) Magnesium, u) Polychlorinated biphenyls
<br />k) Nitric acid, (PCBs),
<br />I) Oxides of nitrogen, v) Polynuclear aromatic
<br />m) Phosphorus, hydrocarbons (PAHs),
<br />w) Volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Changes from comments ,:

<br />13. The storage of the following materials sl~all be prohibited within SFHAs:
<br />a. Lumber (both recycled and ne»~),
<br />b. Construction debr°is,
<br />c. Scrap metal, and
<br />d Junked or derelict vehicles,
<br />14. Hospitals, nursing homes, foster care facilities, sheriff's facilities,,fire stations, emergency
<br />operations centers, and vehicle and equipment storage facilities shall not be permitted ira
<br />~5) SFHAs.
