Recommendations: <br />o Increase job-training programs that provide skills to earn a livable <br />age, <br />o Increase the participation in the employment programs and health <br />programs, and <br />o Support programs that provide health care and counseling services <br />to low- income groups. <br />Action Steps: <br />o Qffer work support programs such as job skills training, childcare, <br />health care, and transportation (Adult Learning Center, Goodwill, <br />Del Mar, T'SA etc, within two years and an ongoing effort), <br />o Ensure the participation by adequate outreach and access to <br />employment initiatives through the Department of Labor, <br />Department of Human Services, and the Work Force Investment <br />Act (NIP, United Way Info line within two years and an ongoing <br />effort), <br />o Encourage employers to start creative programs for their <br />employees including housing allowances and community <br />investment, (various industries and City within five years and an <br />ongoing effort), and <br />o Develop job opportunities for the people with work related <br />disabilities, offering some flexible employment opportunities <br />(Goodwill, Adult Learning Center, Del Mar, various industries and <br />employers within four years and an ongoing effort). <br />57 <br />
