GOai 6: Sustain the condition of persons and families placed in permanent <br />housing. <br />Recommendations: <br />^ Provide treatment and other supportive services for those in <br />permanent housing, and <br />^ Ensure sufficient incomes to pay for housing. <br />Action Steps: <br />^ Coordination with service providers to ensure that a homeless <br />person's service needs are met after the placement into permanent <br />housing, (City, HIP various social service organizations within five <br />years and an ongoing effort), <br />^ For disabled homeless placed in permanent housing, services can <br />be funded through Medicaid or funds through federal mental health <br />and substance abuse block grants, depending on their eligibility, <br />^ Transitional services can be funded through different mainstream <br />funding sources including, Temporary Assistance for Needy <br />Families, the Community Services Block Grant, the Social Services <br />Block Grant, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services <br />Administration block grant programs, and <br />^ The City should continue to work to expand job opportunities <br />through the recruitment of corporate relocations, the provision of <br />incentives for local corporations seeking expansion opportunities, <br />assistance with the preparation of small business loan applications, <br />and other activities whose aim is to reduce unemployment and <br />53 <br />
