ISSI10 5: Lack of immediate services for populations approaching homelessness, <br />which may consume fewer resources than after becoming homeless. <br />60x1 ~: Re-housing homeless persons. <br />Recommendations: <br />o Housing search and placement services should be developed for <br />homeless persons or people on the verge of homelessness, who <br />are looking for affordable housing, and <br />o Effective supportive services are needed after the homeless are re- <br />housed to sustain their improvement. <br />Action Steps: <br />o Qutreach to landlords using skilled housing search staff, (United <br />Way Info-line, landlords and tenant agencies within two years and <br />an ongoing effort), <br />o Incentives for landlords to rent to homeless households and <br />assurance to resolve the landlord/tenant problems by housing <br />services agency, (landlords and tenant agencies and judiciary <br />services within four years, evaluate and modify the incentives), and <br />o Services to address credit problems and access to subsidies for <br />households with extremely low incomes (Consumer Credit <br />Counseling, Catholic Charities year one and an ongoing effort), <br />ISSUE 6: Assisted populations becoming homeless again. <br />52 <br />
