465 <br />This meeting was held for the purpose of discussing with the Mebane Town Board <br />of Alderman an agreement previously adopted concerning a water and sewer line which <br />is to be constructed to an industrial site east of the Town of Mebane. Discussion <br />ensued concerning the plans, which has received preliminary approval of a loan'and <br />grant for the construction of such a water line, by the Orange-Alamance Water <br />System, Inc. These plans, however, do not include the needed sewage line to the <br />proposed industrial site. Due to the fact that no assurance had been give to <br />either of the governmental Boards that the Orange-Alamance Water System, Inc. will <br />be in operation or servicing the proposed industrial area by the summer of 1967, <br />the time which the proposed industry desires to begin its operation, both the Mebane <br />Town Board and the Orange County Board of Commissioners agreed that the'proposed <br />revenue bond issue must be presented to the Local Government Commission for the <br />necessary approval. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners reviewed the-proposed 1966-1967 county <br />budget and talked with some of the Department Officials. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting same was adjourned <br />to meet again on Wednesday, July 13, 1966, at 7:30 p.m. in the Commissioners room <br />at the courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Harvey D. Gattis, Acting Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />July 13, 1966 <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in adjourned session on Wednesday, <br />July 13, 1966 at 7:30 p.m. In the Commissioners room at the courthouse in <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Members present: Chairman Harvey Bennett, Commissioners Gordon B. Cleveland, <br />William C. Ray, Carl M. Smith and Henry S. Walker. <br />Members absent: None <br />This meeting was held for the purpose of studying the 1966-1967 proposed county <br />budget. <br />Commissioner Cleveland moved that the county tax rate be established at 944t and <br />that $49.00 per capita be appropriated to the School Current Expense budget. This <br />motion died for the lack of a second. <br />Commissioner Smith moved that the county tax rate be set at 94¢ and that <br />$48.00 per capita be appropriated for the School Current Expense. Commissioner <br />Walker seconded this motion. Commissioners Ray, Walker and Smith voted yes and <br />Commissioner Cleveland voted no. Chairman Bennett declared the motion passed. <br />Commissioner Ray presented a road petition for road #k1544 and the Clerk was <br />authorized to forward same to the State Highway Commission. <br />There bing no further business to come before the meeting same was adjourned to <br />meet again on Monday, July 25, 1966 at 8 o'clock p.m. in the Commissioners room at <br />the courthouse in Hillsborough, North Carolina. <br />Harvey D.
