She indicated that Gayane Chambless has served on the JCPC for <br /> many years in the non-profit position, but, given her recent retirement, has applied to be considered for <br /> one of the at-large seats. She also noted that there was a mistake in the packet, and the BOCC <br /> Representative should be Commissioner Bedford. <br /> The Board agreed by consensus to set the recommended term expiration dates. The Board also <br /> agreed to appoint Gayane Chambless. <br /> The Board also expressed interest in ensuring that both school districts have representation on <br /> the JCPC, and Tara May committed to working toward that goal as additional vacancies are filled. <br /> 10. Orange County Housing Authority Board -Appointments Discussion <br /> The Board discussed appointments to the Orange County Housing Authority Board. <br /> BACKGROUND: The goal of the Orange County Housing Authority Board is to provide decent, safe, and <br /> sanitary housing for the low-and moderate-income families in the County. <br /> The Board of County Commissioners appoints all seven (7) members. <br /> The Orange County Housing Authority Board does not make recommendations for appointments. <br /> The following positions are presented for Board consideration: <br /> NAME POSITION DESCRIPTION TYPE OF EXPIRATION <br /> APPOINTMENT TERM DATE <br /> BOCC At-Large Partial Term 06/30/2029 <br /> Appointment <br /> BOCC Resident Member Partial Term 06/30/2029 <br /> Appointment <br /> If the positions listed above are filled, no vacancies remain. <br /> Tara May introduced the item. She indicated that there is one applicant eligible for the Resident <br /> Member position, Heather Nash. <br /> Commissioner Bedford expressed concern about Heather Nash's stated intentions regarding <br /> serving on the board and suggested continuing to search for other candidates. The Board agreed to <br /> continue recruitment for the Resident Member position. <br /> The Board agreed by consensus to appoint Camila Hargett to the at-large position. <br /> 11.
