RES- 202 &0401 �D '�l 5j Caltolac0 Attachment 5 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> A Resolution Regarding the Use of Occupancy Tax for Tourism Related <br /> Expenditures <br /> WHEREAS , the county has been authorized to collect Occupancy Taxes on hotel and <br /> short-term rental stays since 1991 , <br /> WHEREAS , tourism is a vital part of Orange County' s economy , generating revenue that <br /> supports the county , <br /> WHEREAS , it is important for Orange County to continue to invest in future tourism that <br /> will enable the County to recruit , retain , grow , and generate businesses and jobs that are <br /> desirable ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> hereby states its intent to use Occupancy Tax to reinvest into initiatives that support the <br /> tourism industry ; and , <br /> NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> hereby considers the following examples as investments the County has made to support <br /> the tourism industry : the Orange County/Chapel Hill Visitors Bureau , the arts and arts <br /> festivals , capital investments in parking and other amenities that serve visitors , athletic <br /> and recreation facilities and programs that attract visitors as well as other investments <br /> intended to encourage or support tourism and the hospitality industry in Orange County . <br /> This the 16t" day of June , 2026 . <br /> an Hamilton , Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> Laura Jens Perl to the Board t.6,6dse �h <br /> f <br /> 17 52 <br /> Or 1 (Qxra��� <br />
