While a segment of Orange County community <br /> members and decision-makers advocate and support local farms and food, <br /> Orange County is not exempt from the larger societal trends of disconnection of <br /> citizens from the sources of their food and a decline in understanding of farming <br /> and food production. Community members and decision-makers who are <br /> knowledgeable about the need for and benefits of farmland and local food <br /> production are likely to buy local farm products and to support stewardship of <br /> local farmland. Priority Actions I Oa through l Od provide mechanisms for <br /> enhancing community members' and decision-makers' awareness and <br /> understanding of the contributions of agriculture in Orange County.
