Orange County Roundtable Discussion <br />"Providing Services to the Latino Population" <br />Preliminary Report (June 2003) <br />XVI. OPC Mental Health <br />^ Provides substance abuse and mental health treatment services <br />^ Provides child mental health case management services for children 5-17 <br />years. The children typically have behavioral, emotional or mental health <br />problems and are at risk for separation from their families. Services help <br />them to get back to their homes. <br />^ Funding provided by Systems of Care <br />XVII. Orange-Person-Chatham Mental Health <br />^ Received a Childhood Trauma & Maltreatment Grant from the UNC <br />Department of Psychiatry through June 2004 <br />- Provides outreach and treatment for 4-15 year olds <br />- Services are mobile and free <br />- Receives referrals from schools and DSS <br />XVIII. KidsCope <br />^ KidsCope is an early intervention program for children ages 0-5 years wit <br />social, emotional or behavioral issues. Services include: <br />- Childcare Consultation <br />- Play Therapy <br />- Outreach <br />- Family Transitional Learning <br />^ Location: Hillsborough Elementary, Hillsborough, NC <br />^ Spanish-speaking staff on-site <br />^ Forms and screening information are translated into Spanish <br />^ There is no waiting list. <br />^ The PACT program is for at-risk children ages 0-3 years with developmental <br />disabilities. <br />^ The Children's Learning Center is a small inclusive childcare center for 2-5 <br />year olds; the teacher/student ratio is 1:4. <br />^ Funding is provided from federal, state, county, towns, Smart Start, and <br />private sources. <br />^ Clients experience funding challenges if they are not Medicaid-eligible. <br />XIX.
