Orange County ABC Board Policy and Procedure Manual <br /> Employee Retention Benefit <br /> The Employee Retention Benefit is intended to reward employees for continued loyal <br /> employment with the Board and is based on years of service. Retention is a non-mandatory <br /> supplemental benefit disbursed at the discretion of the Board. The Board may choose to <br /> deny or amend the retention disbursement should finances or other prevailing <br /> circumstances dictate doing so. The Board will announce a decision concerning retention <br /> payouts on or about November 1st each year. Retention payouts will usually occur during <br /> the first week of December. <br /> Employee Retention Pay Schedule: <br /> Years of <br /> Service FT li%) <br /> 5-9 Years 1.00% <br /> 10-14 Years 1.50% <br /> 15-19 Years 2.00% <br /> 20-24 Years 2.50% <br /> 25 Years Plus 3.00% <br /> Eligibility: <br /> Any full-time employee who starts on or before July 1-i5 eligible for the Employee Retention <br /> Benefit and anyone hired after that date is not eligible until the following year. <br /> ErIgNItty#or retention ay does not applytoo the ell Manager, the Assistant <br /> - <br /> General Manager, or to individuals providing services to the Board under an existing <br /> performance contract. <br /> Completed Years of Service: <br /> A completed year is a calendar year and any part of a month more than 15 calendar days <br /> qualifies as a full month of service. <br /> Annual SalaryNVages: <br /> Salaries and wages used to determine the amount of the retention payout include all pay <br /> earned for work performed during the period of December 18t of the prior year through <br /> November 30th of the current year. The prior year retention benefit payment and any lump- <br /> sum or additional payouts are not used in the calculation. <br /> Separation: <br /> Retention pay is not pro-rated or paid when employees separate during the year. <br /> 4-3 05/01/2026 <br />
