He <br /> said that in 2020 there was a difference of about $S million between the district's state and local <br /> budgets, and now it's approaching$17 million five years later. He attributed this to both lower per-pupil <br /> state allocations due to reduced student enrollment and the state's failure to keep pace with actual <br /> operating expenses.
