1 <br /> APPROVED 5/19/26 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> BUSINESS MEETING <br /> April 21, 2026 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Business Meeting on Tuesday, April 21, <br /> 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center in Chapel Hill, NC. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Jean Hamilton, Vice-Chair Amy Fowler, and <br /> Commissioners Jamezetta Bedford, Marilyn Carter, Earl McKee (arrived 7:02 p.m.), and Phyllis <br /> Portie-Ascott <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner Sally Greene <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Travis Myren, Deputy County Manager Caitlin <br /> Fenhagen, and Clerk to the Board Laura Jensen. (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Hamilton called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present, <br /> except for Commissioners Greene and McKee. <br /> Chair Hamilton invited members of the Government Academy forward to take a picture <br /> with the Board of Commissioners. <br /> 1. I'm representing <br /> over 200 people who've signed a petition asking <br /> County Cor17MIssioners to not allow development <br /> of a disc golf course at Blackwood Farm Park. <br />
