In response to the Board's request, Informational presentations are to take place at BOCC meetings <br /> through November 2025. The BOCC will receive a schedule for these presentations, as well as <br /> potential financial impacts of guest presenters, at its August 26 regular BOCC meeting. Following is <br /> a link to Board agendas and materials: https://www.orangecountync.gov/1707/BOCC-Agendas <br /> Community Engagement Window#3, to unveil a draft Land Use Plan 2050, is anticipated to occur in <br /> the spring of next year. Additional information, including robust public notification, will be <br /> forthcoming closer to the opening of engagement. Will have increase <br /> of over 200% in HOME resources. <br /> • Will be spending previous years and current years money. <br /> ■ Longtime Homeowners Tax Assistance Program very popular due to <br /> reevaluation of assessments. <br /> • Immense need this year. <br /> • Towns of Chapel Hill and Carrboro are matching funds this year. <br /> • $360,000 of assistance this year. Consider changes to increase <br /> impact in future years. <br /> ■ Consolidated Plan Language <br /> • Responding to Executive Orders re: key terms <br /> ■ Housing Analysis <br /> • Want to include as information item at a Board meeting to be able <br /> to engage with it prior to our annual work plan presentation <br /> ■ Staff Shout Out for Willie, Aaron, and other key staff <br /> • Lots going on, including Consolidated Plan wrap up <br /> • Down administrative staff with responsibility to manage several <br /> programs <br /> ■ Partnership to End Homelessness Meeting later this week <br /> • Aiming to get more resident engagement. At new Carrboro library. <br /> • Receiving technical assistance from HUD for Continuum of Care <br /> • Preparing for cold weather cots, expanding to Hillsborough <br />
