SCHOOLS ITEM
7:10 handout 1. Proposed Third High Schaal In The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools
System
The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) indicated during its April 24, 2003
work session plans to conduct a public hearing on several aspects of the
proposed third high school in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS}
system, immediately preceding the May 27 planning-related items. The school-
related public hearing will commence at 7:00 p.m. The hearing would have two
primary purposes:
1. Afford citizens the opportunity to comment on the proposal to reallocate
$12.8 million in public school bonds approved by voters in November
2001 from Elementary School #10 to High Schaal #3. The BOCC could
reallocate 2001 bond funds for Elementary #10 to High School #3,
necessitating other funding for Elementary #10.
