Box 8181 Hillsborough NC 27278 Dear Chair Brown: Subject: Board Appointment The Orange County Recreation and Parks Advisory Council reviewed all applicants for the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council and recommends Deborah Judd to fill the at-large position currently vacant. Ms. Judd is a resident of the Orange County. "The criteria for this position are: • That the applicant selected be a resident of the County of Orange, that he/she show an active interest in the development and improvement of recreational opportunities and parks in Orange County. • That he/she possess experience or training in recreational activities and/or • Experience or training or demonstrated interest in parks and a • Willingness to commit to active participation on the Council In addition, the Recreation and Parks Advisory Council is committed to increasing the diversity of Council members and committed to preserving a geographical balance of representation whenever possible. It is the feeling of the Council that Ms. Judd will provide valuable input as a member because: • She has many years of experience in the finance industry, and she is a Certified Financial Planner. • She has a B.S. in Management. • She will represent the County of Orange as a resident and property owner. • She is an active volunteer, and works in a leadership role in the organization of special events. • She is a participant in recreational activities such as horseback riding and tennis. • She has an interest in parks as demonstrated in indicating this board as his first choice among all others.
