Located along the
highly trafficked Highway 86 in rural Orange County, the Cedar Grove Community Center serves a
community of nearly 5,500 residents. The solar array is projected to generate 84,438 kWh annually,
reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 58 metric tons of CO₂ per year.
This solar installation project at Cedar Grove will bring clean energy to a rural area of Orange
County, helping bridge the gap in access to renewable technology. This project directly supports
the County’s Climate Action Plan by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing renewable
energy use, and generating operational cost savings.
ORGANIZATION A ND STAKEHOLDERS
Please list all organizations and stakeholders who have contributed to this project
NC Clean Technology Center, Cedar Grove Community Center, Pisgah Energy, Orange County
TIMELINE GRANT MILESTONES, ACTIVITIES, A ND DELIVERABLES
Docusign Envelope ID: CF064D56-F89A-8651-8229-D168AFF8B909
