This budget amendment appropriates funds in the <br /> General Fund consistent with the donation. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 3. Provide social safety net programming and the resources needed for <br /> our most vulnerable community members (e.g., veterans, unhoused people, foster <br /> children, older adults, etc.). <br /> • GOAL 6: DIVERSE AND VIBRANT ECONOMY <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Provide family-oriented and inclusive programming or other cultural <br /> events for residents and visitors. <br /> Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation (DEAPR) <br /> 4. DEAPR has received a $500 donation from Farm Bureau of Hillsborough to be used to <br /> purchase food for the Earth Evening event that will be held at Blackwood Farm Park. This <br /> budget amendment recognizes these funds in the General Fund and provides for receipt <br /> of these funds consistent with the intent of the donations. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE ACTION <br /> OBJECTIVE 3. Improve educational opportunities for County staff and community <br /> members on climate action and available resources to advance climate action projects. <br /> • GOAL 6: DIVERSE AND VIBRANT ECONOMY <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Provide family-oriented and inclusive programming or other cultural <br /> events for residents and visitors. <br /> Asset Management Services <br /> 5. At its meeting on October 21, 2025, the Board approved a contract with Pisgah Energy to <br /> perform a Solar Feasibility Study. At that time, the Board also approved a Memororandum <br /> of Understanding (MOU) with the Town of Hillsborough to include four (4) town facilities in <br /> the study, with the Town reimbursing the County for its share of the work. The Town has <br /> since requested to expand its portion of the Solar Feasibility Study Contract by $11,521 for <br /> additional services.
