14
1 John Dodson explained that the current capacity was 2.5 million gallons while the new facility
2 would provide 4 million gallons with expansion capability to 6 million. The new facility was scheduled to
3 come online in late 2027 or early 2028 at approximately $90 million cost and would meet Jordan Lake
4 requirements.
5 Reading questions from an Orange County Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) board
6 appointee who couldn't attend, Commissioner Bedford asked about fluctuation between average
7 minimum and maximum flow for current and approved projects, how much flow was attributable to
8 stormwater or infiltration, and the nature of approved projects.
9 John Dodson explained that current flows were at 1.6 million gallons daily, with normal daily
10 maximum flows reaching 2 to 2.5 million gallons during midday, and storm flows increasing to 6-7 million
11 gallons daily. He offered to provide detailed responses via email for technical questions and confirmed
12 that expansion would accommodate both residential and commercial projects.
13
14 Slide#3
B. Plans involved tying this station
24 into the West Ten Force main connecting to Southeast Regional, which would remove 80,000 gallons per
25 day from GE Pump Station while increasing GE capacity.
