Why a Connected Trail Network? <br /> The Trails Plan presents an opportunity to develop MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> a highly connected trail system across Orange Trails provide affordable and sustainable <br /> County,which brings a variety of benefits to the alternatives for reaching key points of interest like <br /> local community.The proposed network (detailed schools, libraries, parks, and community facilities <br /> in Section 04: Evaluation & Recommendations) that residents use each day. By expanding the trail <br /> aims to improve residents' health, strengthen network, Orange County can not only become a <br /> the local economy, enhance multi-modal better, healthier place to live but also progress <br /> transportation, and preserve the natural resources toward its transportation goals of improving multi- <br /> that set Orange County apart as a desirable place modal access, reducing reliance on motorized <br /> to live, work, and visit. vehicles, and creating safer connections for <br /> residents in rural and more urban areas alike.'.' <br /> HEALTH&WELLBEING <br /> Trails can play a key role in improving both ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP <br /> physical health and wellbeing, reducing stress Thoughtfully designed trail networks help protect <br /> and improving quality of life by providing places sensitive ecosystems and landscapes by directing <br /> to exercise and engage with nature.
