GHG Data Comments Staff adjusted estimates.
Other Staff Comments
BOCC & CFE Review Data and Notes
Overall Comments from
HRC (BOCC Report)
W hile it talks about the employee demographics and support for Durham, this is more for Orange
County; it also doesn't break down how much of the product goes to support social justice vs
business—Manufacturing of solar panels is a very socially and environmentally unjust endeavor
(e.g., child labor in Congolese cobalt mines)—W hile a valuable initiative for the farm and its
recognition that is supports a diverse community of workers as it works to increase their wages,
the impact here is incidental to the social justice and racial equity work, with a notable passion
toward increasing the wages of those workers with these savings—I like to see opportunities that
encourage just labor practices and laws but struggle to see guarantees that the value of this grant
is passed on to the benefit of those employees. W e do want to encourage businesses like this
which support our regional county education systems, but there is a tenuous relationship between
the solar implementation and the elevation of the workers' pay—The impact on marginalized or low-
income communities lacks specificity. Percentages are useful, however 64% of 300 people is
different than 64% of 12 people.
Recommended
Application
checked
CFE Recommended
Funding (enter $0 if not
recommending)
30000
Application Ranking 2
Overall Comments from
CFE Meeting (BOCC
Report)
CFE was very impressed by this grant. They applied last year and were turned down but took
advice and recommendations to make this year's grant request very appealing. Stronger, more
realistic business/farm application than last year's with increased partnerships/collaborators.
Notes for Applicant Could Red Hawk add something to their packaging to increase education (maybe a link to info
about the project?)
Contracting
Award Amount (Format
as follows: $XX,XXX.XX)
$30,000.00
Does this applicant have
a W9 and EFT in the
system?
No
Correctly Submitted
Contracting Documents:
Contracting Status
Vendor Number
Grant Project Implementation
GHG Reduction (Annual,
metric tons CO2e) / GHG
Reduction (Lifetime,
metric tons CO2e) have
adjusted.
unchecked
Post Award Status
Comments
Award Tracker Notes
Grant Project Completion
Payment Complete.unchecked
Docusign Envelope ID: 1EDD1EF6-0E3A-40E1-B431-94002662BCDF
