(150 word <br />limit) <br />Red Hawk Farm is leading this work, with three-phase energy installation support from Piedmont <br />Electric Cooperative; this installation project is a routine service Piedmont Electric has provided to <br />our community for decades. <br />D26. (250 <br />word limit) <br />As mentioned above, we have strong project and grants management experience among our staff. <br />W e have successfully applied for, and executed, grants in the past, including Orange County <br />GAP/Food Safety support, Organic Certification Cost Share and the W ater Analysis Cost Share <br />Program through the NC Department of Agriculture, a USDA Value Added Producer Grant, a USDA <br />Pandemic Response and Safety Grant, and more. <br />D28. Please describe <br />any prior challenges you <br />have encountered in past <br />grants and how you have <br />worked through them. <br />How may this impact this <br />proposed project? (150 <br />word limit) <br />W e have experienced challenges with grant implementation in the past including delayed grant <br />reimbursements, and delayed infrastructure installation due to bad weather. In both cases, we <br />made sure to communicate clearly and frequently with grant funders to make sure everyone was <br />on the same page, understood the challenges, and agreed on next steps and solutions. <br />This proposed project could be subject to weather delays, but we do not anticipate this kind of <br />challenge will prevent project completion within the grant timeframe. Regardless, we will <br />communicate with grant funders whenever is necessary so that the grant team knows the funds <br />are being used efficiently and effectively. <br />D29. Please describe <br />one to three key <br />partnerships/ <br />collaborations that add <br />the most value to the <br />success of the proposed <br />project. (250 word limit) <br />Piedmont Electric is our most important partner for this project because they will collaborate on <br />design and execution of three-phase power installation at the farm. W e began a relationship in <br />2024 when applying for this grant opportunity, and so we were able to pick up the relationship <br />quickly and make plans for reapplying this year. Piedmont Electric is also committed to renewable <br />energy expansion in Orange County, and are pleased to partner with Red Hawk Farm to do this <br />important work. <br />D30.
