C4. Describe your
proposed use of
funds. (150 word
limit)
These funds will be used primarily to pay CompostNow for food waste pick
up ($22,836.67). There are also funds budgeted for kitchen countertop
compost bins ($1,525), and compostable liners ($880). New neighborhoods
will likely need some funding for printing to get the word out about their
program ($1,525) and to provide a small amount of food for kick-off
educational events ($1,000). The church we are partnering with would like
to start composting paper towels from their restrooms and we've budgeted
funds to purchase trash cans specifically for paper towels ($200). W e
would like to hire a part time staff member, and there are some funds to do
that for a short period of time ($1,060). Finally, we are working with a non-
profit fiscal sponsor and there are funds for them to accept the funding,
track spending, and distribute funding to our neighborhood partners
($1,451.33).
The total amount requested is $30,478.00
C5. If a full award for
your project is not
possible, can/will you
accept partial funding
and still be
successful?
Yes
Please explain how
your project can still
be successful if you
don't receive the full
requested amount.
(200 word limit)
If we don't receive the full amount, we will strategically choose
neighborhoods to participate. W e will base this decision on the
demographics of the neighborhood (prioritizing more diverse
neighborhoods), and the impact each neighborhood is expected to have
through this program.
Section D. Scored Criteria Criterion 1 - Social Justice and Racial Equity
This criterion has a maximum score of 6 points (out of a total of 26 points).
Docusign Envelope ID: 60C8120B-2E2C-4F19-BFBC-3ADFB6A6F8E1
