(250
word limit)
The double-paned W in core 5400 series windows that will be installed are ENERGY STAR
complaint and will save more than $325/year in energy costs per household compared to single
pane windows. This corresponds to 20.1 Million Btu or 5,891 kwh per residence per year
(employing August 2004 estimates). Applications are accepted through April 30, 2027. It
would benefit our grant application (for more energy-efficient repairs and retrofits to our buildings)
if we could use our award of Orange County/Carrboro Community Climate Action funding as a
match to the funding we request from EJ TCGM this year.
D22. Please describe
any other aspect of your
project that is relevant to
the efficient use of grant
funds. (150 word limit)
The windows replacement, for which we are requesting funding, will reduce energy bills for every
resident in those buildings, and especially those who live in the units where windows are
replaced, for at least 20 years. This provides practical and accountable financial assistance to
members of the most vulnerable populations in Orange County. It also reduces current
greenhouse gas emissions-- not just one time, but throughout the new windows' existence.
Criterion 4 - Capacity of Applicant This criterion has a maximum score of 3 pts (out of a total of
26 pts).
D23.
