The Department on Aging has been awarded additional Home and Community Care Block <br />Grant federal funds totaling $27,028 for the current fiscal year. These additional funds will <br />be spent printing the Senior Times and purchasing furniture, equipment, and supplies. The <br />required 10% local match is available in the Department's Community Based Services and <br />Elder Care budgets for FY 2002-03. This budget amendment provides for the receipt of <br />these federal funds. (See Attachment 1, column #1 ). <br />2. The Department on Aging has also received notification of State funds totaling $15,261 for <br />Senior Center General Purpose funding for centers throughout the State that provide full- <br />time programs. In Orange County, the three (3) senior centers are eligible for $5,087 each. <br />The required 10% local match is included in the Community Based Services operations <br />budget for the current fiscal year. These funds will be used to purchase and replace <br />equipment at the centers, which are essential in providing quality programming. This budget <br />amendment provides for the receipt of these State funds. (See Attachment 1, column #2) <br />3. The Department on Aging has received additional National Senior Service Corp federal <br />grant funds totaling $6,129 for its Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). These <br />additional funds bring the current budget to $57,691 for the current fiscal year. The <br />Department has also received additional local support funds totaling $300. This brings the <br />
