Please describe the <br />additional units of <br />impact your project <br />has. <br />Kids should be able to play, learn, grow, and just be kids without worrying <br />about their next meal. Because of TABLE: <br />* 97% of kids consume more fruits/vegetables per week <br />* 79% of parents purchase more nutritious food when grocery shopping <br />* 63% of kids experience improved physical health such as fewer stomach <br />aches, fewer headaches, more manageable diabetes or obesity, etc. <br />* 62% of kids experience improved mental health such as fewer hunger- <br />related distractions in class (irritability, headaches, tiredness) and <br />improved ability to focus, remember, and learn <br />W hen asked how food from TABLE benefits their children, parents said: <br />* “W ith TABLE, I have learned to cook healthy… Before, one of my <br />daughters started having problems with her blood pressure, but when her <br />diet changed, she improved, and I owe that largely to TABLE because it <br />provides me with nutritious foods, which I am making the most of.” <br />* “Adjusted to their correct projected weight curve per child per age. No <br />longer needs supplemental nutrition by way of Pediasure!” <br />* “Their energy is high, they sleep better at night because of complete <br />meals, & want to go outside & play.” <br />* "Sometimes, we don't have enough money to buy food for our family. The <br />help from TABLE greatly supports our family's food needs. Our family is <br />eating healthily and happily because of the help from TABLE." <br />* “Thanks to TABLE, my son has lunch every day.” <br />W ith the Climate Action Grant, we can positively impact the local <br />environment, local food system, and local children. Kids can “have lunch <br />every day,” eat “healthily and happily” and “go outside and play!” <br />D18. Please <br />describe any avoided <br />financial costs or <br />savings related to <br />the project and over <br />what period of time <br />those costs will be <br />avoided/reduced. <br />(250 word limit) <br />The first year TABLE partnered with W ildflower Lane, TABLE supplied <br />$4,500 for materials and supplies and received $45,000 in organic <br />produce. In 2024, TABLE supplied $26,000 for materials and part time <br />labor, and received $130,000 in produce (retail price at local stores). W e <br />anticipate a similar return on investment with this expansion into Twin <br />Creeks. <br />D19. Does your <br />project accelerate or <br />expand on existing <br />programs that <br />already show <br />positive impact? <br />(150 word limit) <br />Yes. TABLE already has significant success (and subsequent impact on <br />kids in our community) with our partnership at W ildflower Lane.
