23 <br /> 1 In considering new applicants, the HPC is required to follow the guidelines from the State Historic <br /> 2 Preservation Office (SHPO) in order for the County to remain eligible to participate in the state's <br /> 3 Certified Local Government (CLG) program. Those guidelines include the following language <br /> 4 governing the qualifications of prospective HPC applicants: <br /> 5 "All members shall have demonstrated experience or knowledge in history, architecture or <br /> 6 related disciplines that is supported by resume information sufficient to allow the SHPO to <br /> 7 confirm the qualifications of members, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 61." <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The Board of County Commissioners appoints all seven (7)At-Large members. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The following individual is recommended for Board consideration: <br /> 12 <br /> NAME POSITION TYPE OF EXPIRATION <br /> DESCRIPTION APPOINTMENT DATE <br /> TERM <br /> Carol Ann At-Large First Full Term 03/31/2029 <br /> Lewald reappointment <br /> 13 <br /> 14 If the individual listed above is appointed, no vacancies remain. <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Tara May introduced the item. <br /> 17 The Board agreed by consensus to appoint the recommended individual. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 8. Orange County Board of Adjustment—Appointments Discussion <br /> 20 The Board discussed appointments to the Orange County Board of Adjustment. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 BACKGROUND: The Board of Adjustment hears, reviews, decides appeals, and reviews any <br /> 23 order requirement, decision, or determination made by the Zoning Officer in the performance of <br /> 24 official duties. It also hears and decides applications for the approval of those Special Uses <br /> 25 requiring Board of Adjustment approval, in accordance with the rules and conditions laid down in <br /> 26 the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), hears and decides appeals for variances from the <br /> 27 dimensional regulations of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), and decides or determines <br /> 28 other matters as may be required by the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) or State law. <br /> 29 There are no term limits for Board of Adjustment members. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 The Board of County Commissioners appoints all five (5) members and two (2) alternates. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 The Board of Adjustment does not make recommendations for appointments. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 The following individuals are presented for Board consideration: <br /> 36 <br /> NAME POSITION TYPE OF EXPIRATION <br /> DESCRIPTION APPOINTMENT DATE <br /> TERM <br /> Jeff Scott At-Large Third Full Term 06/30/2029 <br /> Elizabeth At-Large Second Full Term 06/30/2029 <br /> Bronson <br /> 37 <br /> 38 If the individuals listed above are appointed, no vacancies remain. <br />
